Dark Forest Theatre is an independent theatre placed within the heart of Northern Ireland. The theatre is dedicated to the craft of authentic and powerful storytelling.
We wish to bring the art of performance to audiences to captivate them and bring them into a world that they perhaps have never experienced before. Using the art of storytelling to bring the watcher to a world unknown. Where what seems familiar is not, where old tales take on new life and new stories begin.
Established in 2023 by Nathan Martin, Dark Forest has developed a reputation for its powerful visuals and strong writing. With a focus on complex characterisation and powerhouse performances.

We at Dark Forest Theatre are committed to nurturing new and existing talent and giving artists and creatives the chance and freedom to grow within their craft. Dark Forest Theatre is a non-funded theatre and as such we do not rely on others to create, only ourselves.
The ethos of the company is that artists at all stages in their careers should be able to create and to grow within a professional and nurturing climate. We strongly believe in the support and development of artists and as such we hold open castings for all our work. The values of the company is always to be artist led and to allow our artists to have a voice and to take ownership of the space and their work. The mental well-being of the artists within our community is first and foremost at the heart of Dark Forest Theatre.
