About The Company

Established in 2023 by Nathan Martin, Dark Forest Theatre is an independent, travelling theatre company based in the heart of Northern Ireland. Our work is grounded in emotional truth and shaped by a deep reverence for the craft of storytelling.

Our mission is to bring the art of performance and powerful storytelling to audiences. We have presented work in numerous venues, both within and beyond Belfast, inviting audiences into worlds they may not have encountered before. Our productions explore themes of identity, sexuality, folklore, myth, and the intricate complexities of human nature.

'MONSTER uses the extreme actions of a family to ask whether we’re all capable of violent acts motivated by love and anger borne out of loyalty.” — Alan Meban

Dark Forest Theatre has earned a reputation for dark and immersive storytelling. We frequently collaborate with ForeverEndeavourFilms to help to bring our visual visions to life. This artistic evolution is supported by our sustainable business practices, which enable us to create work without relying solely on external funding.
